Frisian Colorists and Restorers is a restorer studio which dedicates itself to the restoration, bookbinding and coloring of mainly old (land)maps and antique books.
The studio was founded in the year 2000 and is located in the Blokhuispoort in Leeuwarden.
Our team consists of seven experienced artisans, who focus on the continuation of old traditions. We pay high attention to research and restoration in a respectful and time honoured way as we continually dedicate ourselves to improve our expertise.

What else do we do

Our company is specialized in the restoration of antique books, but also creates new work.
This may include activities as the following:

Binding special limited editions, for example in collaboration with artists
Making exclusive book covers that are gilded with gold
The production of facsimiles or limited copies, that can be printed an colored by hand
Cartonnage; making custom book boxes and covers made for special editions

The team of F C & R occasionally produce their own publication
